简介：
法國佔領越南的最後年代裏，法國貴婦艾麗亞娜（凱瑟琳·德納芙 Catherine Deneuve 飾）在越南南部經營橡膠園，她收養了父母雙亡的越南公主卡米爾（範林丹 Linh Dan Pham 飾），兩人相依生活。艾麗亞娜愛上年輕的越南殖民軍海軍軍官詹·巴普蒂斯（文森特·佩雷斯 Vincent Perez 飾），但後來詹卻與卡米爾陷入愛河。卡米爾誓死要嫁於詹，並離家出走追隨詹去越南北方的龍島。路途中，卡米爾因誤殺一名法國軍官遭到追殺，兩人開始逃亡。途中，他們生下了兒子艾蒂安納，最終兩人被捕，兒子交予外祖母艾麗亞娜撫養。詹拒絕回國受審，憤慨自盡；卡米爾因大赦出獄，當艾麗亞娜前去接她回家時，卡米爾義無反顧地離開了這個家，成爲一名堅定的越南民族獨立共產黨人。數年後，當艾蒂安納再次見到作爲越南代表團成員參加日內瓦談判的母親時，兩人已然淡漠生分。 本片獲第65屆奧斯卡金像獎最佳外語片。

This movie is also called Dust of life in English and was made by Alex Bouchareb in 1994. In 1975, 3 kids decide to escape a reeducation camp in the Vietnamese equatorial forest near Cambodia where the Amerasians are imprisoned, tortured both mentally and physically.
